Love the rainbow!

I saw an awesome blanket on pinterest, where else right? It was called bears rainbow blanket. I absolutely loved it and decided I must make one for each of my kids. I looked at the kits that are used to make one and it was almost $800.00! Seriously? I would never pay 800 bucks for a blanket! Much less for one I still have to spend months making myself! In their defense it has almost 50 different skeins but still no way. I happen to already have about 30 similar colors in my stash but they are worsted weight and the blanket pattern called for fingerling. So I decided to improvise and make my own rainbow blanket. I am all collecting colors that I need but I drastically changed a ton of things to make it work for the yarn I wanted. Its turning out pretty cool so far. I'm pleased with it and that's what matters right? I'm really exited to see the finished product.

One armed Elmo

Well I had a ton of red left over in my stash from Aiden's spider man blanket so I figured I would make an Elmo for Emmy. Found an adorable free pattern on ravelry and got to work. Building and stuffing as I go.. Well I get to the last arm and masks it half way through before I run out. Elmo turned out much bigger than I anticipated and this was yarn from lay year so I can't find the same lot number. Awesome, right? She was a little scared of her armless Elmo, but after he had one finished arm she didn't seem to care that he was one short. I figure I won't sweat it if she doesn't. :-)  Gotta hate when you try to use the stash and fall short...

Update: I found more yarn and while it isn't exactly the same lot number its so close you can't tell. :-)  Elmo is complete thank goodness.

Something new

I have made a ton of projects since my last blog. More knitting and crocheting happening than blogging. I am currently working on a precious little spring coat for Emmaline. I saw it in the spring issue of crochet today magazine. I'm in love with the colors. I can't wait to finish and post pics. I will have to show off some of the otter things I have been up to lately. Spider man blanket for Aiden, a scally cap for him, me some knitted boot toppers and Emmy a poncho. They were all such fun projects!

Hoot Hoot

I finished my first crochet  project!! A precious little owl beanie for Emma. I made it a little big so hopefully it will last the winter!

Now Im working on a witch hat for Emma and a little knitted broom for some halloween photo props! Should be precious if I can make the witch hat look cute. :)

And yes I am still working on the spiderman blanket, though it sadly wont be done in time for little man's birthday. Im now aiming for Christmas!!! Tis the season for lots of knit/crochet gifts to go into production.... My hands hurt alreadyjust thinking about it!

Opps I did it again....

Wow been a while since my last post.. I know I'm really bad about getting on here, I will do better!! :)

I have so many projects done since the last post and so many going now, of course. I can't ever seem to start a project and see it through, I have to start many and go back and forth when I get bored with one.  I will attach some pictures of my finished projects, pictures do say a 1000 words right?

                                                 Emma little lamb photo prop.

                                                           Knitted mermaid photo prop

Emmy needed a beardy beanie too!

I have been working on a spiderman web blanket for Aiden so pictures will be up when I actually finish it!

We went to visit mom in WY a few weeks ago and I had her teach me to crochet. Its pretty easy since I already know knitting and it goes way faster. I am digging it. :) I'm finishing up my first crochet project now. It a little owl beanie for Em. That's all for now, my little princess is throwing a tantrum.

Getting back to it..

I am working on some more stuff, finally. I took a vacay after little Emma was born, we are finally getting used to life so now I can squeeze in some knitting/me time. :) I have opened up an etsy shop and I'm selling my stuff http://www.etsy.com/shop/KyndalsKnits. Mostly just bearded beanies , they must be all the rage now ha ha. I have way to many projects going on but I dig all the chaos and the options of bouncing around to different projects when I get bored with the one I'm working on. Recently finished an adorable pea pod pattern for my little princess, it didn't fit. It would be perfect for a newborn but my 2 foot long baby just wouldn't fit. Shes gonna be tall like her daddy! So now I'm remaking it and making some serious adjustments to it will fit better and look cuter in my opinion. :) And I have added a pic of the cute little spring blanket I am making.

so many projects, only 2 hands to work with..

I finished Jason's beanie for him just in time for his trip, he likes it, thank goodness. I'm working on projects for twinny's kiddos now. Sadie's bolero is going to be so cute I must say. I will have to make one for Emma when she gets bigger. I need to finish up the beanies and get them and the bolero in the mail. They probably won't get there until after Christmas though. I would be done faster if I could sit around and knit all day and that is usually my plan but it just seems like something always comes up and I am busy all day, and when I do get to sit down with the knitting stuff, well its time to make dinner, or go to karate, or do bath and bedtime routine for the little man. Who knew being a stay at home mom could be so time consuming and actually mean less me time? How does that happen? ha ha. Oh well I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm afraid that I will not be seeing my knitting goods for quite some time once miss Emma makes her appearance. We shall see!
